Opening Times

Typical Opening Times

Visual overview of surgery opening times

The normal surgery opening times are 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday. During these opening times we offer our full complement of medical services, usually via pre-booked appointments. In addition to this, between the hours of 6pm and 6:20pm, the receptionist is also available to speak to on the phone.

The surgery also offers extended opening hours on a Monday. During these hours all calls into the surgery are handled by the out-of-hours service, but we offer extra pre-booked appointments with a doctor and with a nurse. The extra doctor's appointments are between the hours of 6pm and 8:15pm. The extra appointments with the practice nurse are between the hours of 6pm and 8pm.

Subject to availability, patients can also see a local GP, Physio and Phlebotomist (blood taker) for routine appointments on weekday evenings and at weekends. These are held a various hubs throughout Huddersfield.

Pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments are available between 6.30pm and 8.30pm each weekday, with additional slots available on Saturdays and Sundays between 8.45am and 5.15pm. GP, Physio and Phlebotomy appointments are available for any Greater Huddersfield patient in the Primary Care Centre hub at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and some physio appointments are available at other sites as well.

You can book an evening or weekend hub appointment by ringing the practice. If you need to book an appointment when the practice is closed then you can ring the free NHS 111 phone line out of normal working hours and they will book an appointment for you if appropriate.

The surgery is also closed on all public bank holidays.

In a week when we are closed for a bank holiday we will offer our extended opening service on other days. Please ask the receptionist for further information.

For urgent problems outside normal surgery hours please call 111.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999.

Chest pains, strokes and / or shortness of breath all constitute an emergency.
